Your Body Attacks
“Lupus”
This article was
inspired by a colleague whose cousin suffers from this disease and who told us
that young women are very exposed to this disease and that they do not realize
until the disease is already very developed.
Lupus is a
disease in which the immune system mistakenly attacks healthy cells and
tissues.
Currently the
causes of this condition are not known. It is only known that genetics,
hormonal factors and external factors such as sunlight influence the
manifestation of this disease.
Currently there
is no a test to detect lupus because it is often confused with other diseases.
This, has no
cure, but it has a treatment with anti-inflammatory, immunosuppressive and
biological drugs.
